Airtel is back with yet another blockbuster “My Airtel” app. My Airtel app is a self-care service application released by Airtel to assist customers in viewing their account balance and data balance, it also helps customers in; making quick recharge from their bank account, purchasing data bundles at amazing rates and exploring the world of caller tunes.
Last week I wrote on how to get double data from Airtel. If you haven’t read it click Airtel New Data Bundles 2020: Get 2gb for N500, 3gb for N1000, 6gb for 1500 and 9gb for 2000.
All you need in order to get the app is;
- An Airtel sim card
- A smartphone with internet connection from the Airtel sim card
With this, you’re ready to download the My Airtel app. Now all you have to do is go to your smartphone’s store and search for My Airtel and you’ll see the application. For android users click here to get the app from the google playstore.
How to Get Free Data From Airtel Using My Airtel App
Now here’s the bit you’ve been waiting for. How to get free data using My Airtel app. Here are the steps.
Once you’ve downloaded the My Airtel application, open it with your internet connection still on.
When you open the application, a menu will pop-up asking you to input your Airtel mobile number. Now all you have to do is input your mobile number and an otp will be sent to you which will be auto-detected by the application and the application will be up and running.
Note: if you are using a MiFi this will probably not work. This is because the auto otp text detection is a must as there is no way to manually input the otp. Now all you have to do is remove the sim card from the MiFi and put it in the mobile device in which you downloaded the app and after this step you can put the sim card back in the MiFi.
After all this is done, all you have to do is wait and you’ll receive a text as the one below.
Waiting time can range from 30 minutes to 6 hours but the good thing is that once you get credited with your free data you’ll receive the above notification.
Research is yet to be done to see if this data can be accumulated.
